One egg a day does not cause a risk to the heart

In the past, eggs have been suspected of being harmful to human health due to their cholesterol content, in particular cardiovascular risk.

The work of epidemiologists has been twofold: first of all they have monitored 215 thousand individuals of both sexes, monitoring their health for 34 years. By grouping them according to egg consumption, experts have shown that eating up to one a day does not cause a cardiovascular risk.

In a second moment, experts reviewed the data of many studies published in the world on eggs, including a total of 1.7 million individuals and confirmed that the consumption of eggs, up to one per day has no negative effects on the health of heart.

The experts also found that for each egg replaced by a piece of meat, the cardiovascular risk increased by 10-15%, and if the egg was replaced by milk, the risk increased by 11%.
