Eating fish or Fish Oil

 Eating fish or Fish Oil

Children who eat fish once a week or more sleep better and perform better on intelligence tests than children who do not eat fish at all .Studies have shown a link between omega-3s - the essential fatty acids found in many species of fish, including salmon, sardines and tuna - and improved mental development as well as better sleep.

Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, a substance that the body needs to perform many functions, from muscle activity to cell growth.

Omega - 3 fatty acids can only be obtained from food and can not be produced by the body itself. Fish oil supplements come in the form of liquids, capsules and grains.

Fish oil is used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, to treat triglycerides and high blood pressure, and to improve the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Use of fish oil show:

Heart disease: Research shows that eating sources of fish oil, such as tuna and salmon, twice a week is associated with a reduced risk of developing heart disease. Taking fish oil supplements for at least 6 months reduces the risk of heart problems and death in people at high risk for heart disease.

High blood pressure: Numerous studies show a slight decrease in blood pressure in people who use supplemental fish oils.

High cholesterol and triglycerides: Omega-3 fatty acids can reduce blood triglyceride levels. An improvement in "good" HDL cholesterol levels has also been observed.

Rheumatoid Arthritis: Research show t that fish oil supplements may help reduce pain, improve difficulty moving around in the morning, and reduce joint pain in people with rheumatoid arthritis. Although pain relief may be modest, it may be enough to reduce the need for anti-inflammatory medication.

children can start eating it around the age of two.

But we must be careful, because although generally safe, excessive use of fish oil can have some side effects such as:

bad breath

digestive problems

vomiting

redness and itching of the skin

increased risk of bleeding
